Trial of Local Christian Leader to Begin on April 24

Christian Activist Accused of “Dumping” in Charlotte, County

LYNCHBURG, VA – The criminal trial of Martin Mawyer, president of Christian Action Network, will begin on April 24th. He has been charged with illegal “dumping.”

Charlotte County has accused Mawyer of dropping 50 fliers out of an aircraft that landed on private property. The alleged offense occurred on November 18, 2006, according to the “Bill of Particulars” filed by Commonwealth Attorney, William E. Green, Jr. of Charlotte County.

According to a police “incident report,” the fliers contained information that “Sheikh Gilani was a terrorist and it was a disgrace that a lane was named after him.”

Though Mawyer maintains his innocence, he has been charged with a Class “U” Misdemeanor that carries a maximum confinement of 12 months in jail and/or a $2,500 fine.

The trial is scheduled to be held at the Charlotte County Court House, 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24.

“I did not dump anything in Charlotte County,” said Mawyer regarding the charges brought against him. “But it is true that Sheikh Gilani is a terrorist and it is true that it is a disgrace that Charlotte County has erected a public road sign honoring this Islamic murderer.”

For the past two years, Christian Action Network has documented that Sheikh Gilani heads an American Islamic terrorist organization known as “Muslims of America.”

The organization has 35 known Islamic compounds, communes and villages scattered throughout the United States, many with paramilitary, guerilla warfare training facilities.

A 2006 Justice Department report clearly states: “Gilani is now known as an international terrorist.” In addition, the report states: “His followers call themselves the ‘Soldiers of Allah.’”

One of Sheikh Gilani’s terrorist compounds is located in Red House, VA occupying 45 acres of land in Charlotte County. It is called “Muslims of America.”

In a videotape obtained by Christian Action Network, Sheikh Gilani instructs his soldiers how to shoot weapons, set-off explosives, kidnap victims, hijack cars, murder guards among other terrorist training activity.

Sheikh Gilani tells potential recruits on the videotape: “You are most welcome to join one of the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare.”
Gilani’s recruits are also told in the training video: “Act like you are a friend, and then kill him.”

Though Mawyer denies the criminal charges, he fully support alerting citizens about this American-based terrorist organization and the removal of a public road, “Sheikh Gilani Ln,” that honors its terrorist leader.
