Citizens respond to Islamic religious programs

Petition calls on Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to end state funding of Islamic religious education in California, and to issue a state report on possible religious fairness infractions.

As president of 250,000-member Christian Action Network, I ask you to initiate a probe into the special accommodations and favoritism now being extended at public expense to religious Muslim students that are denied to students of Christian, Jewish and other religions.

Tens of thousands of concerned Christian citizens join me through this ongoing petition in asking their state government to end the pro-Islamic religious favoritism in public schools and at public-funded colleges and universities wherever they are discovered.

In a development you may find ironic, though adversaries on numerous issues in the past, the American Civil Liberties Union is beginning close scrutiny of the pro-Islamic favoritism, agreeing with our position. The instances of favoritism and pandering are becoming that obvious.

There are cases of public schools separating students by sex as an accommodation to Muslim religious views, more of teaching Islamic prayers and theological doctrines as superior to others.

Muslim prayer rooms, ceremonial foot baths, Islamic religious dietary restrictions and religious holiday observances are more signs of public favoritism for Islamic religious views over others.

This favoritism is not escaping our attention, so we are responding against the clear pandering to Islam that is taking place after years of secularizing away Christian and Jewish influences.

This petition calls on you to respond to my office quickly. I want to give a favorable report to our members and to a public that is rising up in alarm to this egregious and very sensitive injustice.

I remain, respectfully yours,

Martin Mawyer – President
