John Allen Mohammad Executed, Last Letter Held
John Allen Mohammad's executing went off without a
hitch (or would that be "with a prick") Wednesday November 11,
2009.
That night at the Virginia Maximum Security Facility, Mohammad was
lead down the corridor for the last time. Strapped onto the
gurney, IV placed into his arm; just a few more seconds for a last
minute pardon, waiting, none comes. It's time. The
series of injections are pumped through the IV, he closes his eye,
and then…..nothing.
This is the end to John Allen Mohammad. A cowardly murderer,
who hid in a car and took pot shots at unsuspecting citizens trying
to go about their daily business, his victims died with a bullet,
not knowing where it came from or from whom.
Yet, somehow, here in the US we feel it necessary to makes sure a
low-life piece of trash like Mohammad gets a "humane"
execution. He randomly killed 10 people; never giving them
the same "humane" treatment he was given.
John Allen Muhammad has left a final letter. It is in the
possession of his attorney. What's in it? It will
not be known for some time now; his lawyer will not disclose
anything right now.
"We have a letter," the attorney, Charlene Patterson,
stated. "Right now we're not prepared to disclose
anything in that letter because it would be extremely inappropriate
at this time."
"Based on the emotional climate ... the family is not comfortable
disclosing any details," she added.
One of Muhammad's lawyers confirmed that his client requested the
letter to be shared. "He said he wanted it read as a
statement after his demise," said Baltimore attorney J. Wyndal
Gordon. But according to Gordon, another lawyer for Muhammad,
Jonathan Sheldon, argued that it would not be "favorable" to
release it.
