Arrest in DC of Muslim Threatening Bombings
Police in Washington D.C. arrested a man named Ahamed Ali on October 6 after he threatened to carry out bombings, according to MyFoxDC.com. Ali specifically threatened the Friendship Heights Metro Station, resulting in the evacuation of numerous buildings in the area.
"I'm not scared to die! I will kill you! I will blow people up and the Metro," witnesses said they heard him yelling.
Ali carried a driver's license from Bangladesh and was seen acting suspiciously around Chevy Chase Pavillion for days. He is said to have made threats and was seen taking notes while staying in the area.
"He made some statements, threatening individuals. At that point we had to take him at his word, what he meant," Sgt. Guy Poirier of the Joint Terrorism Task Force told MyFoxDC.com.
Although no weapons were found when Ali's belongings were searched, a note saying "I will kill you" was found inside his backpack, along with diagrams of sites in Washington D.C. including mosques and bridges.
