Arkansas Gun Store Owner Refuses to Sell to Muslims

Gun range owner Jan Morgan decided she does not want Muslims attending her business

The owner of a gun range in the US has decided Muslim people are not allowed in her business.

Jan Morgan, who owns the Gun Cave Indoor Firing Range in Hot Springs, Arkansas, said she made the decision following incidents such as the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, which killed three people and left several others injured.

"To understand why I arrived at this decision, you must first take into consideration the nature of my business," she wrote in a statement on her website entitled My Gun Range is a Muslim Free Zone. "This is not a coffee shop. People come here to buy, rent and shoot lethal weapons."

Morgan then listed her reasons for the ban, alleging that she received death threats by Muslims after she posted verses of the Koran online which she claims encourage Muslims to be violent.

"Why would I want to rent or sell a gun and hand ammunition to someone who aligns himself with a religion that commands him to kill me?" she asked.

"Two Muslims walked in to my range last week with Allah Akbar ring tone and message alert tones on their smart phones. They spoke very little English, one did not have proof of US citizenship, yet they wanted to rent and shoot guns.

"Their behaviour was so strange, it was unnerving to my patrons. No one would enter the range to shoot while they were there. Some of my customers left. (Can you blame them?)" she continued.

"I understand that not all Muslims are terrorists," she said. "I also believe there are as many Muslims who do not know what is in their Koran as there are Christians who do not know what is in their Bible.

"Since I have no way of discerning which Muslims will or will not kill in the name of their religion and the commands in their Koran... I choose to err on the side of caution for the safety of my patrons," she concluded.

Although some people supported Morgan, her decision and post met the outrage of many others, who voiced their disapproval on social media.
