Anjem Chourdary, a Muslim preacher in the United Kingdom, delivered a speech calling three British soldiers killed in Afghanistan "cowards" and condemn the parade held for soldiers returning from Iraq, The Daily Mail reports. The sermon came after some Muslim demonstrators protested during the arrival of British soldiers coming home from Iraq, carrying signs calling them "butcherers."

"'Non-Muslims in Britain must appreciate that the actions of the British soldiers must be condemned unreservedly; they are not heroes but closer to cowards who cannot fight, as their uncanny knack for death by "friendly fire" illustrates," the paper quoted Chourdary as saying.

'They are terrorists, and cannot be excused for simply 'carrying out their duty', which incidentally (and vividly) was also used by Nazi soldiers in Germany to justify their notorious and bloody campaigns in the early 20th century."

Chourdary is described in the report as the "right-hand man" of Omar Bakri, the leader of the al-Muhajiroun group that has been banned by the British government. He is currently involved with a radical Islamic group called Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah, which consists of some members of al-Muhajiroun that left the group after its blacklisting.

The Daily Mail also profiled Ishtiaq Alamgir, one of those protesting the parade for the British soldiers. Alamgir grew up in a middle-class Muslim family with no ties to extremism but then became the leader of al-Muhajiroun's branch in his hometown of Luton.

'When I watched those planes go into the Twin Towers, I felt elated. That magnificent action split the world into two camps - you were either with Islam and Al Qaeda, or with the enemy," he said to The Daily Mail.
