Experts Warn of Terrorists Using Mexico To Attack U.S.
An investigation by Americas Report warns that access to stolen or fraudulent passports to the United States is becoming increasingly available, particularly from Mexico, Newsmax.com has reported.
The report warns of a growing Hezbollah and Iranian government presence throughout Latin America, and highlights several examples of stolen or manipulated passports being used to smuggle people into the United States.
“It now seems that any person wanting to attack this country could use doctored or manipulated passports or could simply travel to Mexico and pay a Coyote to illegally cross the border. It’s just a matter of time, if it has not already happened, before a terrorist, is able to get to the United States using a stolen, doctored passport,” the Americas Report piece warned.
Mexico has seen escalating violence related to drug trafficking, with the National Drug Intelligence Center concluding that the networks post the greatest criminal threat to the United States today.
“Mexico faces a collapsing economy with no turn-around in sight. All that impacts Mexico impacts its northern neighbor. We are now witnessing a possible collapse of the Mexican federal government and this cannot be ignored or kept from the American public,” General Paul Vallely, Chairman of Stand-Up America USA said in an op-ed.
A Joint Forces Command report warned of a “rapid and sudden collapse” of the Mexican government earlier this year.
