CAIR Leader in California Criticized As Being Extremist
The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Civil Rights Coordinator in Los Angeles, Affadh Shaikh, is a radical Muslim that has promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, Joe Kaufman, the Chairman of Americans Against Hate, has alleged in FrontPage Magazine.
Shaikh’s personal blog shows that he is a self-described “collaborator” for several blogs including one called “Anti-Israel” which published writings of Hamas leaders.
“Continuing his anti-Semitic theme, on January 20th, Shaikh called for a boycott of Israeli-related telecommunication corporations, complaining in Muslamics that ‘AT&T is just another Zionist controlled company,’” Kaufman wrote.
“He then commented, ‘[I]t’s part of the whole telecommunication conspiracy take over by the Zionist. [H]aven’t you heard about the protocols of zion?,’” he continued.
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is an anti-Semitic text that claims to detail a Jewish plot to control the world. The text is widely dismissed as a forgery.
“Kaufman has been known to use bigotry and racism to marginalize and silence mainstream Muslims,” Shaikh told the Christian Action Network.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations is a prominent Muslim group that was labeled by the government as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a terrorism financing trial last year. The FBI subsequently ended its relationship with the organization. CAIR maintains its innocence and says it is a mainstream advocacy organization opposed to terrorism.
