Spain roundup nets 14 Islamic jihad detainees

Raids lead to discovery of bomb-making material as Spain rounds up 14 Islamic jihad terrorism suspects.

The British Broadcasting Company reported Spain’s successful breakup of a bombing plot, locating what they said was an Islamic jihad terror cell in Barcelona.

Seized bomb-making material is evidence in the case against 14 detainees, 12 Pakistanis and two Indian nationals, according to Spanish Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba. 

Local media reported that the Spanish intelligence agency had warned France, the UK and Portugal that a terror cell was preparing an imminent attack.

Several premises were searched and officers seized computers and materials to produce explosives.

The operation is ongoing and more arrests have not been ruled out.

Mr Rubalcaba said the evidence suggested that they were faced with "a radical Islamist group with a significant level of organization…planning to equip itself with material to make explosives and so to carry out violent actions".

Spain suffered at the hands of Islamist militants in 2004 when 191 people were killed in the Madrid train bombings. 

This appears to be a good stab at another tentacle of Islamism as it seeks to force its agenda for dominion and Islamic supremacy over the world.
