Radical Muslims prompt false charges, Mawyer

CAN President Martin Mawyer alerted friends about radical Muslims prompting “false criminal charges,” and he urged them to respond

Here’s the latest: “I’m sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service,” a recording stated of a previous phone number for Charlotte County Board Chairman Haywood Hamlet.

A tenacious CAN friend in New York hunted down a number that works, and wanted other CAN friends to note: 434/542-5000.

CAN office personnel verifying that number could not reach Hamlet, but a recoding noted the Hamlet residence for leaving messages.

Christian Action Network President Martin Mawyer said he might soon have to carry on his activism against fundamentalist Islamism from a jail cell because of criminal charges.

“False criminal charges have once again been filed against me,” he said.

Mawyer and a CAN employee stand indicted on the charge of criminal dumping. The accusation comes from Charlotte County government.

Mawyer detected pressure from the Muslims of America compound at Red House, Charlotte County, as the emphasis behind the criminal case.

“It’s because I dared to distribute literature exposing a terrorist compound in their community,” he said.

“I have no doubt it is because Muslim radicals are afraid of the national release of our Home Grown Jihad documentary,” he added.

“It will expose their murderous goals of placing terrorist compounds across America to harbor terrorists, stockpile weapons, train jihadists, spy and select targets.”

Mawyer sent a battery of new letters out to residents of Charlotte County late in the Fall, calling on residents to have Sheikh Gillani Lane renamed so an international terrorist is not honored in America.

Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gillani, a noted Pakistani cleric of Sufi Islamic tradition began Muslims of America in 1979, and used American supporters to aid fighters against the Soviet occupation in Afghanistan in the 1980s.

Mawyer documents ties between Muslims of America and Jamaat al-Fuqra, stating numerous murders plus successful and attempted terrorist attacks are part of Gillani’s legacy with both organizations.

The legal action by Charlotte County necessitates a legal defense response hired locally due to the county’s case being a criminal allegation.

Mawyer hoped CAN supporters would call Charlotte County Board Chairman Haywood Hamlet so their displeasure with the charges would be clearly understood.

“I was wanting to do what Martin said and get a hold of Haywood Hamlet,” James Buhr of Grayson Kentucky said. “I just got a recording about the disconnected line.”

Barbara Milligan said she wanted to help her mom in New York find a number that works. “She tried to get in touch, and she was concerned that she couldn’t get through,” she said.

“I tried a few numbers and finally got this one; I figured it could help others who are having the same problem,” she added, noting the number as 434/542-5000.

“I appreciate very much the response of our friends,” Mawyer said. “I just hope we can get across the simple message that Charlotte County should be much more concerned about having a terrorist compound out there, and much less concerned about putting me in jail.”

A spokesperson for Charlotte County administration offices stated Haywood Hamlet recently ended career commitments at the previous number, and gave the 434/542-5000 number as the proper one for concerned persons to contact to get in touch with Hamlet.

As a further update, Martin Mawyer said Charlotte County Prosecutor Billy Green could be reached at 434/542-4786, and the same concerns expressed to him there pertaining to the case.
