Should we prepare before hand, or wait until it’s too late? That’s the dilemma our law makers face regarding every probable target for jihadism in America…
Officials in Whatcom County, Wash., are looking
for a big wad of cash to deal with the expected impact of
Vancouver's 2010 Olympics.
Officials are lobbying the U.S. federal government for a whopping
$71.3 million to mitigate the potential threat of terrorism during
the two weeks of the Games.
County executive Pete Kremen says he needs the money to protect his
border due to the volume of people who will be crossing.
Let’s give Kremen credit, he wants to protect his community from the terrorist threat that follows estimates of 450,000 visiting that area of Canada during the Olympics. About two-thirds will travel from the U.S., and many will include Whatcom County, U.S.A. in their plans.
