Islamic jihad targets Christian ‘polytheism’

Due to an error in the Qur’an over trinity belief, Islamic jihad targets Christian ‘polytheism’ by attacking American school in Gaza, Israel

After reading Julie Stahl’s CNS News report, Christian Action Network wonders why Israel doesn’t expel insurrectionist Arabs from Gaza and deed the land to loyal Israelis.

But praise the courage of the American International School folks who are returning to school today after the weekend and another of many recent attacks against them.

Islamic extremists linked to al Qaeda claimed responsibility for last Thursday's attack, in which a rocket-propelled grenade destroyed the art hall.

That attack happened just hours before President Bush was scheduled to travel to the West Bank city of Ramallah to meet with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

In another attack on Saturday, the school's windows were smashed, and computers, printers and other equipment stolen from administrative offices.

The intruders spilled fuel on the school's six buses and set them on fire, destroying them, principal Ribhi Salem said on Monday.

Two separate al-Qaeda-styled groups issued statements claiming responsibility for the attacks.

"Polytheists and enemies of Islam are pursuing each day their work to destroy our youths, who are falling by the dozens into the swamps of vice and moral decadence," an Army of Believers leaflet stated.

"That is why we must re-establish the truth and warn everyone who might try to corrupt our youths or try to open such places of corruption," The statement added.

The previously unknown group is affiliated with al-Qaeda in Palestine.

Another group, Warriors of Jerusalem said Thursday's attack was intended to wipe out the "last symbol of U.S. presence in the Gaza Strip."

But the approximately 200 students were back in school on Monday after staff arranged for transportation to replace the burned out buses, Salem said.

The school received encouragement from parents to continue…The board of directors met and decided not to "cave in" to the pressure to close, Salem said.

"This is what [the extremists] want," he said. "If we close down they succeed."

The school has no political affiliation and is called the "American International School" because it uses an American curriculum and teaches in English except for Arabic and religion classes.

The Hamas-controlled Interior Ministry condemned the latest attacks on the school.

It is a co-educational facility – girls, who must dress modestly in below-the-knee-length skirts, are not required to wear Islamic head coverings…

Salem admitted it’s not clear how the attacks would affect the school in the long run - if parents decide to pull their children out because of threats. The school for now has round-the-clock armed police protection, he said…

The school was damaged in a bomb attack in April 2007, and in 2004 Palestinians fired a rocket that landed in the schoolyard.

The attacks are the latest on Western and Christian concerns. In October, a Christian worker at the Palestinian Bible Society was murdered, reportedly for refusing to convert to Islam.

Islam is so sweet, gave the Bible Society guy a chance to deny Christ - martyred him only when he proved obstinate for his Lord and savior – our cultural diversity folks sure know what they’re talking about when they tell us to trust Islam’s peaceful ways.
