Soldier kidnap plot nets 14-to-life

Note to Council on American Islamic Relations – disregard – soldier kidnap plot nets 14-to-life for Islamist Muslim.

The BBC News report of Tuesday, Feb. 18, negates a prior Christian Action Network suggestion that the Council on American Islamic Relations might have found an example in the world of western hatred expressed toward a Muslim.

Court testimony in London, England reveals the case was a matter of an Islamist Muslim man seeking to purify Islam through violence – something CAIR apparently endorses heartily, according to past associations.

The defendant just last month admitted the plot and to supplying equipment to the Taleban. He was told he must serve at least 14 years.

Four other men have also been convicted of involvement in 37-year-old Birmingham resident Parviz Khan’s terror cell.

On Monday, a Leicester Crown Court jury cleared Amjad Mahmood, 32, from Birmingham, of knowing about the plan but failing to inform authorities.

The security services had placed a bug in Khan's Alum Rock home, and this provided much of the evidence in the case.

"It's plain that you were absolutely serious and determined to bring this plot to fruition," Mr Justice Henriques said at sentencing.

"This was not only a plot to kill a soldier but a plot to undermine the morale of the British Army and inhibit recruitment."

Prosecutor Nigel Rumfitt QC told the court Khan was "enraged" by the notion of Muslim soldiers in the British Army.

Mr Rumfitt said: "Khan decided to kidnap such a soldier with the help of drug dealers operating in Birmingham. He would be taken to a lock-up garage and there he would be murdered by having his head cut off like a pig."

He said this would be filmed and released to cause panic and fear within the British armed forces and the wider public.

Court case notes point to the real “Kahn” artist – bilking the government out of salary-level benefit payments in what he called a “financial jihad.”

He also taught his children jihad chants pointed at the demise of British government leaders.

It is a missed opportunity for CAIR, but not totally if they keep his resume on file and he can make or bust a move to America and join the jihad cause here.
