Men wearing turbans, shouting “Allah Akbar” in Arabic, carry out attack on Israeli embassy, injuring five

Risking prejudicial blame, as if saying so is ethnic profiling, it appears an attack by Islamist Muslim terrorists took place against the Israeli embassy in Mauritania, West Africa.

The National Alert Terror Response Center reported Friday, Feb. 1, on a six-man squad of gunmen who opened fire against the Mauritanian guards protecting the embassy.

A group of six men opened fire with automatic weapons here Friday on the Israeli embassy in Mauritania, wounding five people including a “foreign woman.”

The attack took place shortly after 2 a.m. (0200 GMT), and the building offices were reportedly empty at the time, witness Ali Fall said.

Six men wearing long flowing African gowns and turbans “got out of a vehicle and walked towards a restaurant near the embassy,” Fall, a client of the restaurant, said.

After a few minutes “they said loudly in Arabic ‘let’s go’ then shouted ‘Allah Akbar’ [Allah is Great] and opened fire” at the embassy, he said.

The Mauritanian soldiers guarding the embassy immediately returned fire, and the assailants quickly fled, Fall said.

West Africa is increasingly a target for Islamist Muslim jihad, a fact that impacts individually spiritual, non-violent Muslims who reject Shari’a fatwa’s for jihad as much as it impacts us.
